The 2018 North East Educational Foundation’s Annual Starlight Gala, held on Feb. 23, was the most successful on record with over 650 in attendance and raising close to $200,000. The night was full of milestones, as this gala marks the first to be held at the Witte Museum Mays Center.
The NEEF Gala raised funds through sponsorships, a live auction and silent auction. Guests placed bids on silent auction items through a smart phone bidding system and were able to participate in a Toast to Teachers where one lucky winner was awarded an Apple gift card for $1,000 donated by Platinum Wealth Solutions.
Funds raised will go toward classroom enrichment projects in North East ISD that enhance learning and serve purposes outside of district-funded curriculum. Project examples include reading intervention kits, STEM materials, resources for community gardens, 3-D printers and robotics programs.
