The North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) raised a record-breaking amount at the 16th annual Jerry Comalander’s Fore! The Kids Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 17. The annual fundraiser was presented by Lifetouch.
A total of 156 players, representing 39 companies, joined forces at Canyon Springs Golf Club to raise more than $128,000. The funds raised will positively impact NEISD teachers and students through innovative grants.
“These grants give our teachers extra resources to think outside of the box and this allows them to provide different experiences to the students in the classroom,” said NEEF Golf Chair Kimberly Prater.
New this year, the event featured a helicopter ball drop sponsored by Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. A total of 525 numbered golf balls were dropped from a helicopter and the three golf balls that landed closest to the pin won Visa gift cards.
