2018 Jerry Comalander’s Fore! the Kids Tournament

Sep 21, 2018 | Featured, News

Golfers showed up in record numbers to North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) Jerry Comalander’s Fore! the Kids Tournament on Friday, Sept. 21 to raise funds for innovative grants throughout the district.  A total of 156 golfers, representing 54 companies, donated an all-time high of over $100,000 to the 13th annual golf tournament benefiting the Foundation. The golfers played 18 holes at the Canyon Springs Golf Club and were able to enjoy clear skies and a cool breeze.

Before the golfers took to the course, Superintendent Dr. Brian G Gottardy said, “We appreciate all the business partners and vendors who came out today for the 2018 North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) Jerry Comalander’s Fore! the Kids Tournament. We are also extremely grateful to our Foundation Board of Directors for all their efforts as well as our partners in the school district.”

The title sponsor of the tournament, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union (RBFCU) and RBFCU Retirement Program, gave of their time and funds to make the tournament a success.

“We are excited to once again be here,” said RBFCU Retirement Program, Director, David Stanley. “RBFCU has always had a good relationship with North East ISD schools and this is a part of our continued outreach to do whatever we can to help.”

The NEEF board of directors worked hard to provide breakfast, door prizes and goodie bags for this enjoyable event.

“We’re ecstatic about the excitement and support that is generated around this golf tournament,” beamed NEEF Board Member and Golf Committee Chair, David Beyer. “My favorite thing about NEEF is seeing teachers and students get excited about grants, giveaways, and prizes!  It’s a reminder to me that we are filling a need that can easily be taken for granted.  These are real, tangible, things that can make a difference in the life of a school or class; and they can have a deep impact beyond my time on the board.”
