The North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) distributed more than $161,000 to teachers and schools in NEISD in just two days.
Board Members surprised teachers and administrators with grants for 46 classroom projects on May 21 and 22. Teachers across the district applied for grants and were excited when Foundation Board Members showed up with giant checks.
At Coker Elementary, Susan Rendon and Adriene Long received $8,000 for a Coker Book Room. The school does not have a room like this on the campus with resources for every grade level, all in one place. This will impact everyone–teachers and students–on the campus.
Lee High School’s Mark Hansen and Rachel Humphrey received $1,500 for a U.S. History EOC Success Pullout program. It makes history more interactive with quotes and lessons that bring history to life for high school students.
Grants are awarded based on need and how many students will be impacted through the project.

Students at Encino Park Elementary School were excited to get a grant for their reading initiative.
Board Member David Chancellor presented Regency Place Elementary School with a check.
NEEF presented Stone Oak Elementary with a grant for science technology equipment.
Woodstone Elementary School kindergarten teachers were overjoyed when they received their check.
NEEF presented a check to Lee High School Social Studies teachers for a U.S. History project.
NEEF Board Members and representatives from Garza Bomberger, a major NEEF supporter, presented a check to teachers at Coker Elementary School.
Tracy Wenthe plans to start a garden at Clear Spring Elementary School with her grant money.
Montgomery Elementary School will use their grant to fill a Book Room with nonfiction books.
Wilshire and Tuscany Heights elementary schools were surprised to get their grants.

| North East Foundation made a surprise visit to Fox Run.. The foundation awarded $3,000.00 to Cari Young, school librarian to use for paper-back books for the school library. Young wanted to create the excitement of a book fair for the students through out the school year. This money will be used to make this a reality for our students. | |
