Walzem Elementary School Big Give Update

May 25, 2018 | Featured, News

On March 22 the North East Educational Foundation challenged campuses across North East ISD to give BIG while championing for a cause near and dear to their respective campus. The Walzem Elementary School community came together with the goal of raising enough funds to beautify their courtyard, along with other green space on campus. At the end of the campaign, their campus page had raised over $700!

“We are extremely grateful to all who donated for this cause,” said John Hinds, Walzem Principal. “Our students will be able to experience something not found in an urban environment.”

Now, Walzem students and community volunteers are celebrating another milestone in their Big Give journey, as they prepare to plant the native Texas, butterfly, and hummingbird plants that have just arrived on campus.
