Congratulations to the recipients of the 2024 NEISD Teacher of the Year award, Marcy Hildebrand and Elizabeth Malin! All 72 nominees’ unwavering dedication to teaching had not gone unnoticed.
The teachers of the year were chosen from the following finalists:
Elementary School:
- Heather Kelley, Hardy Oak Elementary School
- Marcy Hildebrand, Northwood Elementary School
- Bethany Balderas, Stone Oak Elementary School
Secondary School:
- Dr. Veronica Salinas, Bush Middle School
- Elizabeth Malin, Ed White Middle School
- Cory Schwartz, MacArthur High School
Though both Marcy Hildebrand and Elizabeth Malin received a $500 check courtesy of NEEF, everyone was a winner! The remaining finalists received $250, and the remaining 66 nominees received $100. Everyone received a cooler backpack with great items for teachers, such as electric hole punchers, insulated tumblers, office supplies, gift cards and more!
This event couldn’t have been made possible without the amazing dedication of our teachers and the generous donations of many businesses and individuals.
