With deep gratitude, we thank Mr. Jerry Comalander for his remarkable dedication over 19 years to the Jerry Comalander’s Fore! The Kids Golf Tournament. This event stands as one of NEEF’s most significant fundraisers.
Mr. Comalander has had a storied career in Texas high school sports, leading the NEISD athletic department since April 1988 and serving in the district since 1973. Even after retiring in 2015, he continues to take pleasure in the golf tournament he established. In his own words, “If we can teach what we love to teach and help them (students) become better citizens, our community is going to benefit from that… The Foundation helps teachers help kids.”
The tournament will occur on October 9, 2024 at the Quarry Golf Club. There are still opportunities to sponsor it or volunteer at northeastfoundation.org/golf.
