Exciting news from today’s New Teacher Orientation luncheon! Seventy-five new teachers were awarded $100 Office Depot gift cards to use for school supplies. Seven teachers from different clusters received their gift cards on stage, accompanied by North East Educational Foundation’s (NEEF) Executive Director Katherine Sanchez-Rocha and our mascot Sparky. Jessica Castillo, an Art teacher at Roosevelt High, plans to spend her gift card on art supplies, “Thank you so much!”

Brandi Schonberg, an 8th-grade science teacher at Jackson Middle School, will buy student organization items and note-taking supplies for Cornell Notes. Lynette Reger at Jackson-Keller Elementary School will be supplying the third-grade team’s needs.

NEEF is a non-profit organization whose aim is to raise funds and provide grants to NEISD teachers and classrooms to elevate the educational experience for our students.
